11 A.M. Rey Ben Lecture

Rey Ben (Argentina), the inventor of the Cap In Bottle sold by Daryl, explained the details of his strange "Baby Act." He then proceeded to teach some very nice effects including his cap in bottle. Good stuff!

1:30 P.M. Michel Clavello

Michel's lecture was one of the high points of the convention. He and Greco have spent quite a few years perfecting the Jack Miller hold out (The Invisible Hand). These guys have really perfected this item and have invented many uses. The vanishes look like real magic! It just doesn't look possible. And then you can recover what was vanished! If you have a chance to see this lecture in your area, don't miss it. And by the way, bring some money - you will HAVE to buy the Invisible Hand.

The Invisible hand can even be used with cards (left). On the right Michel explains how the pull is placed inside the jacket.

3:30 P.M. Saturday Afternoon Show

Jose Sousa

Jose (Puerto Rico) performed a very nice six card repeat routine to kick off the show.

Matthew Furman and M.C. Phil Wilmarth

Matt, who is a full time magician, performed a very nice coin production and vanish sequence and a cool cigar routine. Matt is very busy in the private party market and is working his way into the trade show arena. M.C. Phil Wilmarth added class to the show.

Marcelo Contento

National S.A.M. contest winner Marcelo Contento sat on the table to perform a greatly entertaining bowl routine with his pet tiger.

Marcelo Goobar and John Mintz

Marcelo (Argentina) performed a beautiful three ring routine. John performed the Edward Brown poker deal where the spectator makes many choices, including picking which hand to play. Of course the spectator loses in the end.

Mintz and Robert Herritt

16 year old Robert Herritt performed a great 3 coin routine followed by reset type sequence. Excellent!

Tom Jones and Terry Greenwood

Tom opened with a comedy sequence followed by a three selection routine. Terry (Canada) performed the Zens cards across routine.

Terry and Duc Nhien

Surprise - Duc is from Belgium. He had a lot of fun with guest of honor, Bill Malone. Duc was able to determine which condom had been selected. This condom was then used to help shuffle the deck in one of the funniest moments of the convention. (See below)

Duc and Eric DeCamps

I think Eric was genuinely worried about stabbing the knife into Duc's finger. Obie was more worried about the table. Needless to say, Duc and the table were unhurt after the penetration.

Mike Lair and Justin Style

(left) Mike Lair during his coin production routine. At the end, everything vanished into a stream of silver dust.  (right) Justin Style beginning the card manipulation routine. Justin also produced and vanished 8 coins!

Justin continuing his card routine.

Kim Wist and Jim Swain

Kim (Finland) performed a cool 6 card oil and water routine. He began with "blockhead" and left the nail in his nose throughout his card routines! Jim Swain performed some technically fierce gambling routines - Erdnase aces as well as some amazing poker dealing.

8:00 P.M. Saturday Night Show

Garnac and Malone

(Left) Garnac (Dan Garrett) and assistant Gene Anderson continue the Saturday night tradition. (right) Guest of honor Bill Malone performs the "Obie" version of Sam The Bellhop.

Malone and John Rogers

John performed a very cool mental effect involving three spectators in a "Paper, Rock, Scissors" game.

Bud Dietrich and Oscar Munoz

Trade show performer Bud Dietrich performed a torn paper routine as well as a tape cassette prediction. Nice! Oscar Munoz (IBM Gold Cups winner) performed much of his award winning act.

Oscar and Bob Sheets

Bob Sheets performed his legendary Card Stab routine. Not only is it hilarious, it sure looks impossible as well.

Sheets and Rocco

After selling 900,000 Delights!! Rocco is beginning to market a new product. Keep your eyes open for this one. Rocco performed  a variety of items involving popcorn, silks and water.

Joerg Alexander

This was Joerg's first time at FFFF and he certainly made an impression both as a lecturer and as a performer. Above he is performing a Hofzinser routine in which spectators take two cards. One is remembered, the other forgotten. Joerg divined both!

Jon Racherbaumer

Jon's "transformative" late night session trick was a fooler. Two cards were selected under the most free conditions. The spectator then shuffled the deck. Jon repeatedly took cards in pairs and waited until the spectator said "stop." The two cards held at that time turned out to be the two selections.

Jon and Steve Bargatze

Steve Bargatze has got to be one of the funniest people around. Here he performed one of the staples of his act, the 11 bill trick. Not only is it hilarious, it looks impossible as well.

Steve Walker

Australia's Steve Walker was very funny and also performed some nice magic. He performed a sandwich sequence and a great lie detector routine.

Carl Andrews

Carl, formerly from Indianapolis, now resides in Hawaii (must be nice!). He performed Honest Abe, the Frog Prince and a cool pick a card routine.

Eric DeCamps

Show closer Eric DeCamps performed several items. The highlight was Eric's "egg bag" routine. Eric has really elevated this classic to a new level. I'm not going to give away any of the surprises in this routine. You've got to see it!
