11 A.M. DAVIDE COSTI LECTURE

Jon Racherbaumer was genuinely astounded when he found his selected card inside his jacket pocket! Davide also taught a very nice reverse Matrix routine and several other well received items.

1:30 P.M. TEACH-A-TRICK

Roger Klause and Obie

Roger taught a Slow Motion Center deal item using the unit upjog and a bluff pass. Cool item. Obie is hitchhiking to Buffalo.

Prof. Rem and Paul Richards

Professor Rem performed and explained a Jazz Aces effect using Go Fish cards. Paul taught a three selection mental effect which was featured in his Linking Ring One Man Parade.

Craig Dickson and Davide Costi

Craig shared some ideas on using McBride's Kundalini Rising with a thinner packet. He also had some suggestions on tying the knot in a thread loop.

MINI SHOW

Costi (above) and Michel Clavello

David Costi (above) performed a routine using "Boomerangs." Michel Clavello told a story about how he got into magic. A green silk and other disappeared and reappeared in a truly impossible way.

Danny Archer and Gaston Quieto

Danny performed a cool ring and string effect and a color changing ball routine. Gaston showed his great technical skill with a coin production/vanish sequence and a very cool McDonald's aces type routine.

Gaston and Bill Spooner

Bill snapped a knot into a rope, showed some dice moves and performed some nice coin work.

Christian Engblom

Christian is the master of the "anti-faro", one of the most talked about moves from last year's FFFF. This year Christian performed an "all backs" type routine

3:30 P.M. SHOW

Mike Hilberger and Bob Davis

Mike M.C.'d the afternoon show. After several Hilberger jokes, Bob Davis (who is also a great jazz piano player) performed an excellent tribute to Vernon's Slow Motion Aces.

Mike Gorman and Curt Higgins

Past IBM President Mike Gorman performed his "Millionaire Rope Routine" ending with Wil Rogers' rope snap. Following Mike was Curt Higgins with his Simon the Snake routine.

Peter Layne and Tim Williams

Peter's theme was "time." A thought of time located a card and matched the time on a watch. Tim performed a very cool blackjack sandwich effect.

Bob Farmer and Paul Critelli

Scam artist Bob Farmer continued the Canadian "time" theme, Bob used time to get a card which had a prediction on the back. Paul used pages from Soap Opera digest in a mental effect. He watches entirely too much T.V.

Aaron Dutton and Tom Craven

Aaron performed a routine using a cylinder, a coin and two dice. I believe this is a John Murray idea. I missed the routine because I was mesmerized by Aaron's hat. Tom used five assistants in a "How to Host a Murder" effect. The person who chose the ace of spades was the murderer. When a small noose was placed on each person's hand, it only tightened on the murderer. Excellent routine.

Tom and Rey Ben

Rey Ben (from Argentina) performed his contest "Baby Act." This very strange act had a disappearing chair, a floating baby, a laser pointer and Ray's Cap in Bottle. (Rey is the inventor of the cap in bottle sold by Daryl.)

Bob Elliott

New Yorker Bob Elliott performed some cool card items. A selection ends up with a stamp on it and a coin ends up under a spectator's watch. Cool stuff Bob!

Rey and Obie

Rey having the "designated spectator", Maria select a card. On right, Obie brings the meeting to order.

8:00 P.M. Tribute to Mike Skinner

Bill Malone and Jon Racherbaumer

Guest of honor Bill Malone hosted a tribute to Mike Skinner. Many of Mike's friends gave eulogies and performed some of his pet effects. Bill performed a Touch Turn sequence, a spectator cuts the aces and an ace location. He also gave a lot of excellent advice about strolling. Bill also performed Skinner's Gypsy Curse with a brand new Malone ending which causes the performer to get stuck in an infinite loop.

Jon Racherbaumer

Jon wows a spectator with a Skinneresque routine. He used an Eddie Fechter idea with a double facer creating a very open transposition.

Jon and Roger Klause

Roger was one of Mike Skinner's best friends. He shared some stories and performed killer magic. Roger performed a straw and ring bit and a stop/think effect with three spectators.

Howie Schwartzman and Pablo

Howie a.k.a. Bilbo Baggins recounted more Skinner stories including the famous cold soup story. Pablo (Argentina) performed an unpublished Skinner effect.

Dan Block

Buffalo wunderkind Dan Block dazzles Roger with his fancy card work. Dan performed a cool ace cutting sequence. Then the aces vanished only to be found by counting and spelling. Excellent stuff!

Jim Swain

This is the first time I've seen Jim Swain work and I wasn't disappointed. Invisible seconds and bottoms flowed like water. He performed Quarterback sneak and found the aces at numbers called out by spectators.
